About our presenters:

Todd Almond works in the theater as a writer and composer. He has premiered new works with Lincoln Center Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theater, and Yale Repertory Theater, as has been an artist-in-residence at New York Theatre Workshop, U-Cross, and The Sundance Theater Institute. Almond is currently creating a concert (and subsequent recording) called WYOMING AND PARTS OF KANSAS, which is a musical travelogue exploring the themes of forgiveness and desire and questionable tattoos. The piece will premiere at St. Mark's Church in the East Village on Wednesday, Feb. 16th.

Lee Chabowski is a Brooklyn visual artist, songwriter and performer whose credits include producer and director of The What Goes On! Show (www.thewhatgoesonshow.com), frontman and songwriter for Brooklyn's The Modern Airline (www.themodernairline.com), solo performer, and songwriter and guitarist for Rochester, NY favorites Dog's Life and The Resisters. Micah Chabowski is a middle school student whose interests include songwriting, DJing and video gaming. Micah has performed in Brooklyn clubs as frontman and guitarist for The Pythons and Black Curtain. As The Flying Chabowskis, Micah and Lee collaborated with Brooklyn artist and photographer Shelton Walsmith to create the cover art for Eugene Martin's novel Firework.



ariana reines is a poet and playwright. books include the cow (alberta prize, fence: 2006), coeur de lion (mal-o-mar: 2007), save the world (mal-o-mar:2010; also forthcoming in audio, starring lili taylor, from fence: 2011), and mercury (fence: 2011). a new edition of coeur de lion will be out from fence this summer. TELEPHONE, her first play, was commissioned by the foundry theatre, inspired by avital ronell's the telephone book, and produced at the cherry lane in 2009, with a sold-out run and two obies; you can read it in last winter's PLAY A JOURNAL OF PLAYS. translations include the little black book of grisélidis réal (2009) by jean-luc hennig and preliminary materials toward a theory of the younggirl (working title; forthcoming 2012), both from semiotext(e), and my heart laid bare by charles baudelaire, for mal-o-mar (2009). in 2009 she was roberta c. holloway lecturer in poetry at uc berkeley; in spring 2010 she worked in haiti; next month she'll teach a master class at the university of pittsburgh. recent texts on haiti have appeared in PARIS, LA and on HTMLGIANT; poems at everyday genius, esque, sink, etc. visit http://arianareines.tumblr.com anytime.


Ben Mirov grew up in Northern California. He is the author of Ghost Machine (Caketrain, 2010) and the chapbooks Vortexts (SUPERMACHINE, 2011), I is to Vorticism (winner of the New Michigan Press chapbook competition, 2010) and an e-book, Collected Ghost (H_NGM_N Books, 2009).


Abstract painter Robert Melzmuf lives on the Lower East Side and has his studio in Park Slope. He is represented by the Pelavin Gallery in Tribeca. He has had four solo shows in New York; the most recent show was at Giacobetti Paul Gallery in Dumbo November 2010.
